Adam: Mom, isn't it fun being a mom?
Me: Sure it is, Adam. I have no idea what I would do with all my money and time if I didn't have kids. I guess I would just watch movies and read books all day uninterrupted.
Adam: I knew you would say something like that.
I did then tell him that being a mom is my favorite thing ever and I wouldn't change it for the world.

I'm picturing Adam making that comment as you're scrubbing vomit out of the carpet, or getting gum unstuck from someone's hair, or making the entire city of Chicago out of paper mache because it's due NOW.

Alyson, it very well could have been said at those times. But this time we were just driving down the road. I'm not nearly as clever when in the midst of mommy chaos.
Kathy, my kids never turn anything in late. Just ask their teacher.
